We use secure native OAuth2 providers (such as Google and Apple Sign-In) for authentication. When you sign up, we collect:

  • Name (optional)
  • Profile picture (optional)

B. Spiritual Data (Sensitive Data)

To provide our core services (Prayer Journal, Spiritual History), we collect content you explicitly create:

  • Prayer Entries: Text or voice recordings of your prayers.
  • Chat History: Questions you ask the AI and its responses.
  • Devotion Progress: Which plans you are following and your completion status.

We treat this data as highly sensitive. It is stored securely in our local server database and is only accessed by you or by the AI processing your specific requests.

C. Usage Data

We use Vercel Analytics to collect anonymous usage data to improve performance, such as:

  • Page views
  • Loading times
  • Device type

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

  1. Provide the Service: To log you in, save your journals, and track your streaks.
  2. AI Processing: Your chat messages and prayer entries are processed by Google Gemini (via Vertex AI) to generate responses and reflections.
    Note: We do not use your personal data to train public AI models.
  3. Improve the App: To understand which features are most used.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We only share data with trusted third-party service providers required to run the App:

  • Google Cloud (Vertex AI): AI processing.
  • Vercel: Hosting and analytics.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures (encryption in transit and at rest) to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: View your data within the app.
  • Delete: Delete specific journal entries or your entire account (via the Settings page).
  • Export: Request a copy of your data.

ScriptureSide is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
